Hip Pocket

ALL gentlemen should have pocket squares, whether they are solids or patterns. The pocket square is an accessory that gives an outfit personality. There are several ways to wear a pocket square. There is no wrong way to present this accessory, except in a corporate environment. In the boardroom, a clean square fold should not peek past 1/2″ out the breast pocket. Adventurous tucks should be used in less formal settings, with or without a tie. There are typically two type of pocket accessories, handkerchiefs and pocket squares. A handkerchief’s job, which is generally cotton, is to inspire chivalry and a pocket square’s job, typically silk, is to inspire fashion. So gentlemen, keep a handkerchief in your inside pocket and a pocket square in your exterior pocket.
